The Razr 5G is Motorola’s latest folding phone with 5G connectivity. Its refines its original 2019 model, while making it clear that clam-shell phones aren’t just a thing of the past.
While it doesn’t look significantly different from its predecessor, the 5G model is lighter and more compact. The exterior features a polished 3D glass and 7000 series aluminum, while under the hood, you get a Snapdragon 765G processor, 256GB storage, 8GB RAM, and a 2800mAh battery.
Here’s everything there is to know about the Razr 5G.
As for the hinge – which, let’s face it, is what you’re really excited about – you can expect a lifetime of 200,000 flips, that’s roughly 100 flips a day (the average person checks their phones 58 times a day, as the Guardian noted last year).
Though an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed it’s likely to be late September. We’re keeping tabs on all the retailers that will be offering the new handset as they’re announced, along with any pre-order deals.
How much does the Motorola Razr 5G cost?
The Razr 5G will cost £1,399, and while that’s a staggering amount, it’s still £100 less than the original Razr.
Where to buy the Motorola Razr 5G
Right now, Amazon already has the Razr 5G listed, though it’s temporarily out of stock.
Vodafone was also supposed to release Razr 5G deals on 11 September, with plans starting at £29 upfront and £71 per month for 24GB data, but the launch has now been delayed.
Vodafone’s original launch plan also included the Razr 5G on its Unlimited contracts, with rates as follows:
Unlimited Lite (max speed 2Mbps) – £74 per month
Unlimited (max speed 10Mbps) – £78 per month
Unlimited Max (uncapped data speeds) – £83 per month
As a part of its original launch plan, orders before 22 September would also include the Lenovo Tab M10 HD and Lenovo Yoga Active Noise Cancellation Headphones for free – a bundle worth £329.99.
Again, Vodafone has delayed the launch of these offers, so don’t expect to find them just yet or that they’ll still be the same at launch (but we’re hoping that they are!).
The Razr 5G should also be available from most major network carriers and retailers including:
We’ll keep you updated on any new announcements from networks and retailers about availability. In the meantime, see why our Reviews Editor Chris Martin is “fed up” with smartphones and really wants the Razr 5G – despite its specs.
