Unpacked: Samsung Galaxy S22 & Tab S8

Unpacked: Samsung Galaxy S22 & Tab S8

This was Samsung’s week, so it was no surprise to see just about every other tech company in the world step back and give the Korean giant some space.

That means we’re focusing on a Galaxy Unpacked deep dive on the show, starting with the Galaxy S22 series. There are three phones this time around, but really it’s all about the Ultra, the souped up flagship that looks more like a Note phone than anything else in the S22 series, with a rounded body and space for an S Pen stylus to slot inside.

The regular S22 and S22+ are no slouches though. They may look similar to last year’s S21 models, but they’ve had seriously upgraded camera setups that should keep them competitive in the 2022 market. And by returning to a glass body while keeping prices the same, Samsung has done a lot to win its core fans back over.

Then there’s the Tab S8 series. The S8 and S8+ are solid, if unexciting, Android tablets. But the S8 Ultra is its own strange beast. With a massive 14.5in widescreen display it’s essentially positioned as a laptop replacement, helped by including powerful front-facing cameras that will beat any laptop webcam – though admittedly we could do without the notch.

You can watch the full live stream in the video embedded above, or head straight to YouTube to watch it there (and subscribe, if you feel so inclined).

Alternatively, if you’d rather listen than watch, then subscribe to Fast Charge on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Have any comments or questions you’d like us to answer on the show? Let us know on Twitter or in the comments section on YouTube. We want to know your thoughts, so keep ’em coming.
