CES isn’t typically a technology show where lots of phones get announced – although we did get the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – but TCL has taken the opportunity to unveil the 30 Series with no less than eight handsets making up the range.
They center around three 5G models consisting of the 30 XE 5G, 30 V5G and 30 5G. The first two will be exclusive to the US market and arrive in early February while the 30 5G will also land in Europe ‘soon’.
Details are light but the US exclusive XE 5G will arrive with a 90Hz screen, ‘all day and night’ battery along with 4GB of RAM and a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The phone will be available via T-Mobile.
Meanwhile, the V 5G is coming on Verizon with a 4500mAh battery, Snapdragon processor, 6.7in Full HD+ screen, 50Mp main camera along with ultrawide and macro sensors, and a 16Mp punch hole selfie camera.
“With the TCL 30 series, customer-favorite technologies such as AMOLED displays and stereo speakers will be matched with impressive connectivity, rich design, and competitive pricing,” said TCL.
The three aforementioned devices are part of TCL’s ‘5G for all’ campaign which includes the Linkhub 5G router and Tab 10s 5G tablet. The firm says it has invested US$1 billion in research and development and established 5G labs.
The other five phones in the TCL 30 Series consist of the TCL 30, 30+, 30 E, 30 SE and 306. We don’t know much about these devices yet apart from that they are limited to 4G connectivity.
TCL has said it will announce further details about them at MWC 2022 in Barcelona. The mobile focused show starts at the end of February.
