With an all-star cast, homages to some iconic videogame moments and a release just ahead of the Easter holidays, the Super Mario Bros. Movie is expected to be a smash hit at the box office.
Releasing tomorrow on 5 April 2023, the adaptation follows Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) as he teams up with the leader of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach (voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy) to stop the menacing Bowser (voiced by Jack Black) from taking over the world.
You can get tickets for the film now from the likes of AMC and Fandango in the US, and from chains such as Cineworld and Odeon in the UK.
If you want to know whether you need to stick around at the end of the movie for any bonus scenes, then we have everything you need to know. You can also check out when Avatar: The Way of Water is available to stream.
Does the Mario movie have a post-credits scene?
Don’t leave as soon as the film ends, because The Super Mario Bros. Movie does have one post-credits scene.
This news was confirmed by Chris Pratt in a press briefing with CBR. We haven’t seen the movie, but Dexerto has reported that it will occur mid-way through the credits, rather than at the very end.
We will give details about what it entails once the film is out, along with the appropriate spoiler warnings.
Will there be a sequel to the Mario movie?
Having a post-credits scene should mean that the Mario movie will have a sequel, or some spin-offs, providing it does well. However, this hasn’t officially been confirmed by Universal/Nintendo yet.
Pratt expressed enthusiasm for a Luigi’s Mansion spin-off, but there are endless options for this universe. We should learn more after the film is out.
