Samsung released its latest range of A-series budget phones in the A52, A52 5G and the A72 on 17 March, following its Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event. Of the three phones, the A52 5G is the only handset to launch in the UK. You can buy it now from Samsung and a number of other retailers and networks (see below) though you won’t find stock everywhere (that’s how popular this phone is!).
The Galaxy A51 was Samsung’s most in-demand phone last year, so it’s no surprise Samsung has ramped things up with the A52. Read more about the launch here, or if you don’t mind sitting through the whole show, you can watch it again here.
Despite an asking price under £500, the A52 5G packs a 120Hz refresh rate on a 6.5in Super AMOLED display – all powered by a 4,500mAh battery that Samsung promises should last two days, thanks to “adaptive power-saving”. This battery-saving feature intuitively calibrates how much power is burnt through the day depending on your usage habits. See our full review of the Galaxy A52 5G.
The phone’s “Fun Mode” (developed with Snapchat) also integrates AR lenses right into the camera, which leads with a 64Mp sensor on the back. Check out the full spec sheet for the A52 5G in this handy explainer.
Here, we’re looking at how much the A52 5G costs and where you can buy it on contract and SIM-free along with some of the best offers around including Samsung’s £50 discount.
How much does the A52 5G cost?
The A52 5G is available with 6GB RAM:
6GB RAM/128GB – £399

Samsung indicated it would release a 256GB storage configuration, but only the 128GB option seems to have made it to market. We’ll update this article if that changes.
You can also add up to 1TB more with a microSD. The phones will be available in four colours: black, violet, white, and blue in a “soft haze” finish.
Best Galaxy A52 5G deals SIM-free – £75 off
Right now eBay has £84 off the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G with code SAVE20 (see our coverage of the offer), which reduces the price to £314.95. The offer, part of the retailer’s campaign to help support the small businesses on its site, ends 22 July. You’ll have to be quick as stock is already selling out.
You can buy the Galaxy A52 directly from Samsung where the phone also qualifies for up to £150 off with trade-in.
Given the device’s popularity, it’s out of stock at quite a few retailers. Here are all the major UK retailers selling the Galaxy A52 and any available discounts:
If you bought the Galaxy A52 between 17 March and 27 April, you can claim a free pair of Galaxy Buds+ earphones worth £129. See the full list of qualifying retailers over at Samsung.
