The Brit Awards are back for 2023, and with performances from Stormzy, Lizzo and Harry Styles, it is set to be a night to remember.
Here’s everything you need to know including the time, TV channel, performers and nominees. We also have all the information you need for watching the awards show from outside of the UK.
When are the Brit Awards 2023?
The Brit Awards will take place on Saturday 11 February at 8:30pm GMT at The O2 in London. If you’re based in the UK capital (or are prepared to travel down), then tickets for the event are on sale now.
Which channel is the Brit Awards 2023 on?
In the UK, the Brit Awards will be shown on ITV1, and coverage will last for just over two hours. You can also get backstage coverage from 7:30pm GMT on ITV2 with interviews with performers, nominees and guest presenters.
The red carpet coverage will also be livestreamed on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook for anyone outside of the UK.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that any international channels will be airing the main show. However, if you’re not in the UK and still want to tune in, there is a way.
How to watch the Brit Awards 2023 online
Select performances will be available to watch on YouTube after the show is over, but you’d like to watch the entire ceremony in its televised format, then you can do so via the ITV catchup service. If you’re in the UK, then watching ITV1 online via various devices is pretty easy. Just use ITVX.
Those outside the UK will need to use a VPN to access ITVX. VPNs route your internet to another server elsewhere on the web. This means that you can bypass geo-restrictions on some websites. In other words, you can sign up for ITVX from outside of the UK.
We have successfully managed to sign up for an account using NordVPN, which offers fast performance, a good range of servers and competitive pricing – especially if you lock in for the two-year plan. However, there is still the option to sign up for a monthly rolling membership.
Here are the exact steps you need to take:
Time to complete: 5 minutesTools required: VPN, ITVX website or app, smartphone or laptop/PC
1.
Sign up for NordVPN
Jim Martin / Foundry
If you’re on PC, head to the NordVPN website, log in to your account and then download the PC app under the section labelled ‘Downloads’.
If you’re on a smartphone or tablet, then just search for NordVPN in the app store.
2.
Install the NordVPN app
Jim Martin / Foundry
If you’re on PC, head to the NordVPN website, log in to your account and then download the PC app under the section labelled ‘Downloads’.
If you’re on a smartphone or tablet, then just search for NordVPN in the app store.
3.
Connect to a UK server on your VPN
Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry
Many VPNs have numerous servers to choose from, so if one doesn’t work you can try another.
4.
Launch ITVX
Hannah Cowton / Foundry
Go to the ITVX website or app on the same device – it should treat you as if you were in the UK.
If for some reason it doesn’t work, try switching to a different UK server on your VPN – streaming platforms like ITVX try to block known VPN IP addresses, so you might need to try a couple of different servers before you find one that works.
It’s also worth noting that if you have an ad blocker on, ITVX might block that – and since some VPNs have built-in ad-blocking, you might need to turn off that part of the software.
5.
Sign up for ITVX
Hannah Cowton / Foundry
If you haven’t done so already, make sure you sign up for an ITVX account to watch. You’ll need to put in a valid email address, date of birth and a UK postcode. Then you should be able to sign in as normal.
6.
Head to the ‘live’ tab when The Brits are airing
Hannah Cowton / Foundry
The Brits air on ITV1, so just click on ‘Watch Live’ on that section.
After the show has finished, The Brits should also still be available on catch-up.
Who is hosting the Brit Awards 2023?
