James Cameron is taking us back to the world of Pandora with Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to the 2009 flick, Avatar, which still holds the crown as the highest-grossing film of all time.

At a run time of over three hours, this visual spectacle is packed full of new lore and spellbinding action sequences. However, you may be wondering if there are any bonus scenes to stick around for at the end of the film.

We have everything you need to know. You can also check out when Top Gun: Maverick will be available to stream.

Does Avatar: The Way of Water have a post-credits scene?

No, there is not a post-credits scene in Avatar 2.

So, unless you want to enjoy the animated credits in their full glory, there is no need to stick around in the cinema – especially if you need to stretch your legs after that long run time.

Will there be more Avatar films?

In theory, yes. James Cameron has outlined a plan which includes a whopping three more films, giving us plenty more time to explore the story of the Na’vi.

Here are when the films are currently estimated to release:

Avatar 3 (rumoured to be titled Avatar: The Seed Bearer) – 20 December 2024 Avatar 4 (rumoured to be titled (Avatar: The Tulkun Rider) – 18 December 2026 Avatar 5 (rumoured to be titled Avatar: The Quest for Eywa) – 22 December 2028

Of course, these dates could be subject to change, depending on how the development process goes. Avatar 2 was originally scheduled for a 2014 release, so we would not be surprised to see some – if not all – of these movies delayed.

Whether all the films move forward could also depend on how profitable The Way of Water is. Avatar 3 was shot back-to-back with Avatar 2, so we expect to at least see this film release – which Polygon reported could still bring the overall story to a natural close, should it need to.
