Great British Bake Off Festive trailer
There isn’t yet a trailer for the Christmas and New Year episodes. However, the Bake Off Instagram account did release a photo of Paul Hollywood – who appears to be getting in the festive spirit.
Who is presenting GBBO 2020?
Matt Lucas will be returning for both the Christmas and New Year episode. However, Noel Fielding was on paternity leave during the filming of the Christmas special. He’ll be replaced by comedian Tom Allen, a regular fixture on the Extra Slice slow with Jo Brand and a presenter on Bake Off: The Professionals.
Noel Fielding will return for the New Year episode. As always, both Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will be judging the proceedings.
The Great British Bake Off Festive special contestants
This time, we’ll be seeing previous contestants entering the tent in the hope to take that elusive star baker crown.
In addition, the Christmas episode will round off with a rendition of ‘Silent Night’, as performed by Alexandra Burke.
The Christmas Bake Off contestants will be:
Rosie Brandreth-Poynter – Semi-finalist in 2019
Jamie Finn – 11th place in 2019
Ruby Bhoga – Finalist in 2018
James Hillery – 8th place in 2017
Meanwhile, the New Year contestants will be:

Who won GBBO 2020?
The final of The Great British Bake Off 2020 came down to three contestants; Peter, Dave and Laura. It was a close call between Peter and Dave, but by being daring with his showstopper Peter just managed to snag the trophy. He’s the youngest ever contestant to win the Bake Off.
How to watch the Bake Off festive specials from outside the UK
As per usual, Bake Off is available through regular UK broadcast TV (however you get your TV), airing on Channel 4.
If you want to watch from outside the UK – such as the US, where you might know it as The Great British Baking Show – then you’ll need to use a VPN (virtual private network) like NordVPN so it appears you’re device is local if you want to watch along with the UK on the Channel 4 website. For more details see our article on watching Bake Off from abroad.
