The iPhone 12 range is set to make an appearance very soon, but with more leaks than an old sieve, we already know pretty much all there is to know – and that includes full pricing for the entire range, thanks to a recent leak, although disagreement among the Apple leak community casts doubt on just how accurate it is.
Let’s start with the big one; leaker @a_rumors111 leaked full pricing for the entire iPhone 12 range, including different storage options for each device.
In the jam-packed tweet, the Apple leaker claims that the 5.4in iPhone 12 Mini, the new addition to the iPhone range, will start at $649 (likely £649 in the UK) with 64GB of storage, before going up to $699 (around £699) for 128GB and $799 (roughly £799) for 256GB.
The standard 6.1in iPhone 12 is said to start at $100 more at $749 (likely £649) for 64GB of storage, $799 (possibly £799) for 128GB and $899 (roughly £899) for 256GB.
Moving onto the ultra-premium Pro range, @a_rumors111 claims the iPhone 12 Pro will start at $999 (likely £999) with 128GB storage, going up to $1,099 (around £1,099) for 256GB and $1,299 (approximately £1,299) for 512GB.
Finally, the most expensive option, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, starts at $1,099 (likely £1,099) for 128GB, goes up to $1,199 (around £1,199) for 256GB and $1,399 (roughly £1,399) for 512GB.
While you might be hoping the Pro pricing is incorrect with such an eye-watering price tag, it’s where the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini are concerned that the pricing controversy lies.
@iAppleTimes, another Apple leaker, agrees with the iPhone 12 Pro range pricing, but claims that the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini pricing is wrong. The leaker claims that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will cost an $50 (likely £50) more than what @a_rumors111 originally claimed, bringing the starting price up to $699 and $799 respectively.
The issue is that neither @iAppleTimes nor @a_rumors111 have a particularly great track record when it comes to Apple leaks, with both being relatively new to the scene, so it’s worth taking the figures from both with a pinch of salt.
However, it’s worth noting that the pricing aligns with the ever-popular leaker Jon Prosser, who reported the same start prices as @a_rumors111 back in April, lending a little more credibility to the leak, but it’s impossible to know for sure before Tim Cook stands on stage and reveals the iPhone 12 range for the first time.
The iPhone 12 range is expected to be announced at an event rumoured to take place on 13 October, with release scheduled for soon after. For more on the upcoming smartphone, take a look at the latest iPhone 12 news.
