Robot vacuum cleaners can be really quite pricey, making Cyber Monday one of the best times to buy one.
As is usually the case, you will get what you pay for. We do recommend avoiding the very cheapest, most basic models. With Cyber Monday sales you may be able to afford to step up to a model with a better spec than you would otherwise – and you’ll thank us later.
The more advanced robot vacuums are able to map out your home for more efficient cleaning, while cheaper models tend to bump around the house from this table leg to that sofa and so on. Cheaper robot vacuums can also lack the required suction power to properly clean your carpets and rugs.
Most robot vacuums are capable of returning themselves to their dock after use for self-charging, so you don’t need to worry about them running out of power. And unless your door thresholds are particularly high, getting from room to room shouldn’t be a major issue. Some models will even recognise certain obstacles (such as shoes) and avoid them. But no matter how much you pay, none can traverse a staircase, meaning you either need more than one or you need to give it a hand to clean both upstairs and downstairs.
