From here on out, there will be spoilers for season 2 of The Mandalorian.

When will The Book of Boba Fett air?

The Book of Boba Fett is rolling out episodes now on Disney+. The first episode dropped on 29 December, and new episodes will release weekly at 8am GMT/12am PT.

There will be seven episodes in The Book of Boba Fett. The titles will be carrying on the chapter format seen from The Mandalorian, demonstrating how tightly woven these two shows are.

The Book of Boba Fett is airing before season 3 of The Mandalorian, and will not run alongside as some had originally speculated. It will be an entirely separate show, so we can most likely assume that Boba Fett won’t be a reoccurring character in the Mando show next season.

This show may also be set for more than one season. The Boba Fett Fan Club Twitter account obtained an image that shows crew members have a sticker that has ‘season 1’ on it. This could imply that this is the first of several and that we may have more of the show to come.

Do we think these #TheBookOfBobaFett crew badges are real?

If real, what can we figure from them besides the fact they say Season 1?

Also, which one is your favorite? Creature Crew, Camera Department, or Ad Department?

Is there a trailer for The Book of Boba Fett?

Yes! The first full trailer for The Book of Boba Fett is below, which shows off Boba Fett and Fennec dealing with the politics of the criminal underworld. Take a look below:

The Message clip may be shorter, but it gives us a brief look at Boba after he was rescued from being left for dead on the sands of Tatooine, and seemingly nursed back to life. Take a look below:

Who are the cast and crew?

The show will star Temuera Morrison in the titular role of Boba Fett. Morrison made his Star Wars debut as Jango Fett in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. He returned to play Jango’s clone son Boba in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian and was a prevalent anti-hero throughout the season.

Morrison will be joined by Ming-Na Wen as sniper Fennec Shand, best known for her voice in the animated Mulan films, and for her role as Melinda May in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She made her Star Wars debut back in season 1 of The Mandalorian.

Robert Rodriguez has signed on as an executive producer. Rodriguez previously directed The Tragedy, an episode that prevalently featured both Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. He will be joined by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy.

The Book of Boba Fett plot

Not much has been revealed about the plot of The Book of Boba Fett, but the post-credits scene from The Mandalorian season 2 and the new trailers give us a bit of a clue on what to expect.

Boba and Fennec stormed Jabba the Hut’s palace on Tatooine, where former majordomo Bib Fortuna was sat on the throne living a similar life to that of Jabba. Fennec set free two Twi’lek women who were chained to the throne, and then Boba killed Bib Fortuna before taking the throne for himself, with Fennec by his side.

We imagine therefore that Boba Fett is seeking to establish a more powerful presence in the criminal underworld on Tatooine, and in the galaxy. The first trailer supports this, with him and Fennec promising to rule with respect.

We’ll also learn more about the mystery of Boba Fett returning in the first place, as he was believed to be dead after falling into the Sarlacc Pit during Return of the Jedi. Somebody rescued him, but why?

One major change that may be happening in the lore is the name of Boba Fett’s starship. Gizmodo reported that the name ‘Slave 1’ has been dropped from a Lego listing, and is possibly a sign that Disney is moving away from the name altogether according to designers of the toy, Jens Kronvold Frederiksen and Michael Lee Stockwell.

The ship did appear briefly in The Mandalorian but was never explicitly named. Currently, the toy name is just ‘Boba Fett’s starship’ Whether a new name will be put in place remains to be seen.

Robert Rodriguez teased in an interview with The Nerdy Basement that the series will over-deliver on people’s expectations, and the brief appearance of the character in The Mandalorian is nothing compared to what we will see in the series. Colour us intrigued.

How to watch The Book of Boba Fett
