Gillian Anderson – Jean Milburn
Emma Mackey – Maeve Wiley
Ncuti Gatwa – Eric Effiong
Connor Swindells – Adam Groff
Aimee-Lou Wood – Aimee Gibbs

Joining the cast this season are newcomers Jason Isaacs, Jemima Kirke and Dua Saleh.

Isaacs will play Peter Groff, Mr. Groff’s more successful and arrogant brother. Kirke, who previously starred as Jessa in Girls, will play new headmistress Hope. Saleh will play Cal, a nonbinary student who clashes with her.

What is the plot of season 3 of Sex Education?

Here’s the official log line for the third season of Sex Education:

‘It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.’

There’s a lot to unpack there. Let’s start with Otis – when season 2 left off Otis had broken up with Ola and left a voicemail to Maeve, confessing his love for her. However, this was deleted by Maeve’s friend, Issac.

Assuming Maeve never gets the message (and knowing how Otis jumps to conclusions), we think that a romance between the two leaders of the sex education group at Moordale will be put on hold, at least for now. The plot line indicates that Otis is enjoying being single.

However, he’s still not found out about his mother’s pregnancy. This comes after Jean broke up with Jakob, so the situation is even more complicated. We wonder how Otis will take the news.

Eric and Adam’s relationship will be interesting to follow. Eric broke off his relationship with the ideal boyfriend Rahim, and now has to deal with Adam’s bag load of issues and internalised homophobia. The public confession is certainly a big step forward, but there’s no doubt that there will be more challenges ahead.

Then, there’s the changes at the school as a whole. The promo photos show the Moordale students getting uniforms, and things in general seem to be getting a shake-up. Could this however mean a crackdown on the sex education business that Otis had afloat?

How to watch the next series of Sex Education

Sex Education is a Netflix original, so the only way to watch it is to sign up for account. You can do this on the Netflix website for as little as £5.99/$8.99 per month.
