After months of anticipation, the third instalment in the Marvel Spider-Man franchise is finally out in cinemas.
Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) life is turned upside down after his identity is revealed to the world. With his friends and family now affected, he goes to an old friend, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to reverse what happened. However, when the spell malfunctions, some unwanted visitors from across the multiverse make their way into the MCU.
If you’re wondering whether it’s worth sticking around through the credits for any extra content, then we have you covered. We also have post-credits guides for Shang-Chi and Eternals.
Does Spider-Man: No Way Home have a post-credits scene?
Spider-Man: No Way Home has two post-credits scenes – one mid-way through the credits (after the animated section), and one right at the end of the credits.
Basically, make sure you stick around in the cinemas right until the end if you want the full details.
If you’d like a recap of what happened, then keep on reading.
Spoiler warning for the post-credits scenes of No Way Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scenes explained
The first mid-credits scene shows Eddie Brock/Venom, played by Tom Hardy. He’s hanging out in a bar – seemingly after many drinks – and is catching up on the differences between his universe and the Marvel one. In particular, he’s asking about Thanos, Iron Man and Hulk.
Eddie was seemingly pulled into Peter’s universe around the same time that all the other visitors from the Spider-Man universes were.
This scene ties in directly with the post-credits scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage, in which Eddie and Venom cross the multiverse, and find a video of J Jonah Jameson talking about the ‘Spider-Menace’, with Peter’s face on the scene.
Eddie and Venom start to leave the bar, heading out on a quest to go to New York and meet the Spider-Man from this universe. However, Doctor Strange’s spell sends Eddie back to his universe before he can make his journey.
He leaves behind a small goop of black goo – otherwise known as the symbiote. This now means that Venom is part of the MCU.
We don’t know yet whether it will be Tom Hardy’s version or an entirely new one in this universe. We also don’t know if the clash will happen in Venom 3, or one of the upcoming Spider-Man films. Either way, it’s great to see yet another iconic Spider-Man villain making their way into the MCU.
The second post-credits scene isn’t even really a ‘scene’ at all, but rather a trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. All the tampering with the universe has had some catastrophic effects, and Stephen Strange must rectify his mistakes in order to save the world.
To do so, he must team up with another being that is familiar with the multiverse – Wanda Maximoff, AKA The Scarlet Witch. We get a glimpse of Baron Mordo, one of the villains of the film, plus a surprise villain that fans of What If…? will be pleased to see.
Stephen’s evil variant, Strange Supreme, is in this movie – something that Baron Mordo describes as “the greatest threat to our universe”.
